HAZGO continues its commitment to sustainability with a gold EcoVadis sustainability medal
HAZGO is pleased to announce that the company was awarded a gold EcoVadis sustainability medal in September 2022. This puts the company’s sustainability score in the top 5 percentile when it comes to sustainability management across all EcoVadis-evaluated companies throughout all industries – and not solely logistics and transportation.
Continuous improvement when it comes to sustainability
Jumping up a level from silver in 2021, the EcoVadis gold sustainability rating proves HAZGO’s commitment to pioneering sustainability, like the company’s recent adaptation of LEVC electric delivery vans. Their gold-standard sustainability process makes sure that all aspects of the HAZGO business are continuously evaluated to improve overall environmental performance. This year, HAZGO continued to focus on sustainable fleet solutions, ecological and reusable packaging innovation, and optimized logistics and fleet management.
“We know that the entire transportation ecosystem is under pressure to go greener and optimize business performance. This is why, at HAZGO, we are serious about taking a huge bite out of our carbon footprint,” states Tom Heymans, Managing Partner of HAZGO. “Our 2022 Gold EcoVadis sustainability rating proves we are doing the right thing when it comes to ecological logistics solutions.”
The EcoVadis methodology is built on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and ISO 26000. The EcoVadis sustainability scorecard rates performance across 21 indicators in four themes, including environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis is used by over 90,000 companies across more than 200 industries in more than 175 countries.
Sustainability is a constant mindset
EcoVadis is a critical tool for HAZGO. The company counts on it to continuously evaluate and improve its sustainability footprint, especially in core business areas.
“Clearly our commitment and processes when it comes to sustainability work. Our gold EcoVadis rating proves just this,” explains Johan Lanoizelé, Quality & Compliance Manager, HAZGO. “The scorecards are easy-to-use and everyone on the team, including our partners, is definitely moving in the right direction when it comes to sustainable business practices.”
